 About Pacific Mermaid

A true luxury motor yacht with a fuel range of 4000 miles, the 105 ft Mermaid introduces turnkey power boating.

The concept is total, more than a matter of plush upholstery and an extensive inventory, although the Mermaid has that right down to towels, crockery and vacuum cleaner. It is a matter of integration.

Equipment is not added on, it is ”designed in” as part of the craft's natural order, by the very talented designer Brad Collett of the Munford stable. That means, navigation aids such as radar, autopilot, GPS and radios are incorporated in the pilot's neatly molded teak trimmed console. It means HD television and video units are fitted into special cabinetry.  It means a galley with microwave, modern gas cookers and plentiful refrigeration.

The detailing is extensive, the materials exotic, from hard lacquer work, to Italian marble, from silk and silver, gold and iron, glass and crystal, wool and cotton, and the Burmese teak areas, the fittings too, are the finest available.

The accommodation is divided in two parts. Forward there is a saloon with galley and crew cabins and separate bathrooms. Amidships are four staterooms with a central vestibule to save the usual long passageway. Aft and accessed through the side of the sun lounging area is the engine room, with 7 foot headroom.

The cabin plans show generous proportions, with open floor space, tastefully decorated and much natural light pouring in through companion ways and bright stainless steel portholes. Hull is steel with aluminum superstructure, NASA data couple welded.

For after dark, there is a dual lighting system. Shore power is simple to plug in, and if staying in a secluded bay there is battery storage for 24 hours for "quiet ship" enjoyment,

with 230 volt through inverters and if required, back-up by a silent Northern Lights generator in the engine room. The engines have exhaust systems venting through underwater outlets, for reduced noise.

The bathing platform makes boarding simple with a few steps up to the main deck along the sun lounging area. There is a sink and outdoor shower, in the barbecue area on the aft deck, and ice maker in the salon bar and ample storage throughout. At the upper saloon the Captain has his controls. He can sit or stand and still be in full command. There are two further seats, for guests and friends, to join the skipper on the voyages. Underway, the vessel rides gently against the seaway and the excitement is still rich, with ample power to get home. To steer by wheel or auto pilot, the response is immediate.

And at the end of the day, the 'Mermaid' proves highly maneuverable coming into dock
