History

The Winter family, Ken and Bente, together with their three sons, Allan, Eric and John, operate the family business. 

From a background of four generations of boat building and furniture makers in Denmark, Ken brought his skills with him to New Zealand in the late fifties. From small beginnings, the business was born and in 1962 becoming the registered company 'Danske Mobler'. 

For 20 years the Winter family has operated a separate division for building boats, just one at the time. 

Pacific Mermaid is a luxury motor yacht available for charters. 

The major benefit is that she has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and built to Lloyds Class LRBC.

Pacific Mermaid was the VIP Vessel, for two earlier Americas Cup regattas in Auckland, and in 2006 to 08 she was in Europe for 3 good summers, in the waters of Denmark, Sweden and the Mediterranean. 

The vessel has four double staterooms mid ships, and three double cabins forward.

Pacific Mermaid has achieved an enviable reputation for its ability to create a cruise to remember, in privacy and tranquillity, and many heads of State have been guests on board, while being on a tour of New Zealand.
